How the office space planner works
- Step 1
Enter dimensions and headcount
Add length, width, unit, and how many people need desks. Optional work style and common areas refine the verdict.
- Step 2
Check capacity
See sq ft per person, a comfortable vs tight verdict, and layout tips before you commit to furniture.
- Step 3
Generate a to-scale floor plan
Switch to the Floor plan tab to place zones and desks in real metres — drag to adjust circulation.
- Step 4
Continue in Dream Office
Hand your brief into the Design Assistant, or remodel a photo of the same room with office preview.
Frequently asked questions
- How much office space do I need per employee?
- For full-time work, plan roughly 100–150 sq ft per person including circulation. Open-plan teams can operate closer to 60–80 sq ft per person; private offices need more.
- Is the floor plan to scale?
- Yes. The layout is computed in metres internally, so desk sizes, walkways and zone areas reflect real dimensions rather than arbitrary pixels.
- Can I export or save my space plan?
- Capacity drafts and signed-in plan saves are available on the Capacity tab. DXF, PDF, and photorealistic rendering for floor plans are available on a paid plan inside the app. Continue in Design Assistant to keep your brief.
- Does this account for furniture size?
- Yes — we use standard footprints (e.g. 5×3 ft open desks, 6×6 ft cubicles) plus aisle width. The diagram is approximate; always confirm with a space planner for permitting and code compliance.
